We asked Natali a few questions to help you get to know her better:
What is one interesting or unusual fact about yourself that most people don't know?
I grew up in Kotor, Montenegro, a UNESCO-protected site nestled in one of the most beautiful fjords in the world. Due to the region’s history, children there often learn Italian as part of daily life, as it has remained a strong influence in the local language. Growing up in such a unique environment not only deepened my appreciation for history and culture but also fueled my love for this stunning, yet often overlooked part of the world. This background is also one of the reasons I love to travel—it allows me to explore new places and connect with the rich heritage and beauty of other cultures, much like my hometown.
What is one important lesson or piece of advice you would give to your younger self?
I would advise my younger self to embrace patience and resilience. Life is full of challenges, and it’s easy to become discouraged when things don’t go as planned. However, it’s persistence, adaptability, and the ability to stay focused that create opportunities, even in times of uncertainty. Trusting the process and staying open to growth can make all the difference in achieving long-term goals.
What is one skill or hobby you've always wanted to learn but haven't had the chance to yet?
I’ve always been fascinated by the psychology of horses. These highly intuitive and sensitive animals have an incredible ability to form trust-based connections with humans. I’d love to deepen my understanding of how they think and communicate, and learn how to foster a positive, respectful relationship with them. I believe that understanding their behavior can teach valuable lessons in leadership, empathy, and patience—qualities that are essential both in personal and professional settings.
What is one cultural tradition or celebration that you find fascinating and would like to experience firsthand?
Traditional Indian weddings, with their rich customs, vibrant celebrations, and deep cultural significance , have always captivated me. We had friends who were supposed to have their wedding in India, but due to the pandemic, they had to celebrate in the States instead. I really hoped to experience a traditional Indian wedding in India, complete with all its rituals and customs. The colors, music, and meaningful ceremonies are something I’d love to witness firsthand, as they reflect such a beautiful blend of family, culture, and love.
What is one thing on your bucket list that you hope to accomplish in the next few years?
One of my goals is to officially earn my U.S. architectural license. Navigating the requirements as a foreign architect has been a journey, but I’m eager to apply my international perspective and expertise to projects here. Alongside this professional achievement, I’m also looking forward to exploring more of the U.S. by visiting its national parks. I’ve always been fascinated by the diverse landscapes, and I can’t wait to experience them firsthand.
PS. Meet Coco and Milo 😊
